What is SEO ?

Whenever we surf on search engines like google, yahoo, bing etc. , we search for a particular Keyword. Let’s take an example of keyword “Newton” , if we search this keyword in google, the first website “Wikipedia” comes up. this is because of organic search, we will tell you about organic search later in this article. But why only wikipedia ? , why not other sites ?

This is the point where
SEO comes in. When we search for the term “Newton”, we get a list of
websites related to the keyword we have searched.

A fact is that google cannot see or listen your content. So, to show your content to google, you have to make sure that your website’s content should be relevent to the heading given by you. Also you should write some keywords in the discription of your website.

This will help google to understand that what is your topic about.keywords play a very important role in ranking your website on #1 position.

SEO requirements are constantly changing and it can be difficult to keep up with the latest developments. But if you want your website to get traffic, you need to be aware.

Well-optimized sites are seeing more and more traffic over time, and that means more leads and sales. Without SEO, searchers can not find your website, and your hard work is free. ?

This guide lists the key SEO ranking factors you need to master the search. At the end of this post, you have a well-optimized website that brings you more business.

We’ve created this handy table of contents in case you want to skip ahead to the SEO ranking factors that are most interesting to you:

What Are the Most Important SEO Ranking Factors?

  1. A Secure and Accessible Website
  2. Page Speed (Including Mobile Page Speed)
  3. Mobile Friendliness
  4. Domain Age, URL, and Authority
  5. Optimized Content
  6. Technical SEO
  7. User Experience (RankBrain)
  8. Links
  9. Social Signals
  10. Real Business Information

Let’s take a closer look at the key Google ranking factors for 2019.

1. A secure and accessible website

Not surprisingly, the first of our SEO ranking factors has to do with the right kind of URL. In particular, this is a URL that Google Bots can easily reach and crawl.

In other words, Google needs to be able to visit the URL and look at the page content to understand what this page is about. To help the bots, you need:

A website created with a well-coded website builder
A robots.txt file that tells Google where to find information about your site and not
A sitemap that lists all your pages. If you run a WordPress site, you can set up a sitemap through Yoast SEO. If not, you can use an online sitemap generator.

HTTPS is not a factor in deciding whether to index a page or not, but Google’s John Mueller has tweeted that it’s a “lightweight ranking factor” and that “HTTPS is great for users.”

SEO ranking factors include the security of the website

If you have not yet enabled SSL security on your site, go to it.

2. Page speed (including mobile page speed)

Page speed has been named one of the most important SEO ranking factors for years. Google wants to improve the user experience on the Web, and fast webpage loading will definitely do that.

Google announced an update to the search engine algorithm that focuses on the speed of mobile pages and will impact websites as of July 2018. Failure to quickly load your site on mobile devices can result in penalties.

3. Mobile phone friendliness

While we’re talking about mobile, mobile-friendly is another important SEO ranking factor. More people use mobile devices than desktops to access the web. This is one of the reasons that the ranking of Google search results has changed.

Mobile Usage Statistics 2019

Google’s Mobile First Index is now a reality. This means that results are first retrieved from mobile-friendly sites, not from desktop-facing sites. If your website is not optimized for cell phones, you run the risk of being out in the cold, at least in terms of search engine optimization.

Many of the SEO ranking factors we address in this article will help you to lay the groundwork for a good search engine ranking. However, you must also be aware of the user experience when people land on your site.

Things to see are:

Indicates if you have a responsive site that is automatically sized for the device
Whether you use large fonts to improve readability on a small screen
Accessibility and navigation, including the easy operation of menus
Make sure important content is not hidden by interstitial ads

4. Age, URL and domain authority

Did you know that nearly 60% of sites with the top ten Google search results are older than three years? Data from an Ahrefs study with two million pages suggests that very few websites younger than a year reach this ranking. If you’ve had your website for a while and optimized it using the tips in this article, that’s an advantage.

In some cases, the domain name is important. Although Google Domains has penalized for exact matches (those with the target keyword in the URL), this penalty generally applies to low-content spam sites.

Other research shows that exact match domains that are considered relevant, valuable, and of high quality can see a rise in rankings due to this fact. However, if you’ve already set up a website, you do not have to search for a specific domain for your business. Focus on a URL that reflects your business, and streamline it instead!

When it comes to search engine ranking factors, authority is crucial. As you’ll see, it’s usually a combination of great content (see next tip) and off-page SEO signals like inbound links and social shares.

Moz has coded this into page credentials and domain authorization scores ranging from 0 to 100, indicating how likely it is that a specific page or domain ranks in the search results.

You can verify domain or page permissions with Open Site Explorer. Just enter your URL in the search field and you’ll get a report with domain and page permissions, links and new links.

Follow the domain authority with open site explorer

In Tip 8, we will look more closely at linking practices to improve SEO rankings.

5. Optimized content

We’ve talked a lot about the content of Google SEO Ranking Factors in this guide. This is because this is one of the key factors in the search ranking (right up there, with user experience, links, and RankBrain, which we will discuss shortly). Now let’s find out what optimizing content for SEO really means.

As mentioned in our keyword research guide, Google’s search algorithm is based on keywords. These are the words and phrases that searchers use when looking for information. They are also the words and phrases that describe the topics that are on your site. Ideally, they fit together.

That’s why it’s so important to use keywords in your content.

A negative SEO ranking factor to watch out for is the duplicate content. For SEO, fresh, original content is always best. If you have similar content, let Google know which content should be considered the most authoritative by using canonical URLs.

Understanding LSI keywords and SEO ranking

It’s not just about the main keywords. It is also important to include terms that refer to the most important terms that are searched for. These are called LSI keywords (Latent Semantic Indexing). They provide a kind of online word association so Google knows which results to show.

For example, if you use the correct LSI keywords, Google will tell you that your page is relevant to the car, not the skirt, when entering “mini,” and vice versa.

Here’s one important thing though: keyword stuffing is absolutely forbidden, as it leads to poor quality websites and lowers your SEO ranking.

Understand the search intent for content optimization

Search intent is also important when optimizing content. This means understanding what people really search for when they type keywords.

For example, say you’ve identified “Florida Real Estate” as the keyword for which you want to rank. Maybe you think writing content for property seekers in Florida is a good idea. If the people who are looking for this term are brokers who also want to sell, your content will not meet their needs and your page will not get a rank.

Sometimes it’s clear what people are looking for. For example, if you use the word “compare”, you are probably trying to make a decision about buying a product. And if you use the word “buy”, you want to make a purchase.

The keywords they use change depending on whether they want:

Search for a specific website (navigation)
get the answer to a question (informative)
Inform yourself before the purchase (in preparation)
make a purchase (transaction)
Well-optimized corporate websites contain content for each of these search types. Learn more about keyword intent here.

Is the length of content an SEO ranking factor?

In a word, yes. Google wants content to be high quality and have a certain length. While writing more, just to stretch the length, it is never advisable when a subject demands depth, give it depth.

The study suggests that content with more than 2000 words occupies more than 10 places in Google’s search engine rankings.

SEO Ranking Factors – Response Fields

Google is increasingly providing answers via answer fields. This is another aspect of optimization for better search engine rankings. This is what an answer field looks like:

Search Engine Ranking Factors

Our experience shows that answer field optimization means:

Of course, answer questions
Insert the questions as headings with correctly formatted title tags (more on that in the next tip)
Make sure the answers are correct, relevant and not too long
Target content to keywords that already have response fields
Including lists or tables
Use videos to improve SEO ranking

According to Cisco, video content will account for a whopping 80% of online traffic by 2021.

Video will be one of the key SEO ranking factors

Our own summary of the video marketing statistics shows the following:

People watch videos across all age groups
79% of people would rather watch a video than read a blog post
Users use videos to make purchasing decisions (remember these transaction searches?)
Be sure to include video in your content strategy. The video is read, shared and linked and offers a variety of signals to improve your search ranking.

6. Technical SEO

As we have already mentioned, proper coding is an aspect of optimizing content for better search engine placement. Here are some of the aspects you need to consider:

Use keyword phrases in page titles. Here Google first determines which content is relevant for which search. You will see the page title as the first line of a search result entry.
Use header tags to display the content hierarchy. If your title is formatted as h1, use h2 or h3 for subheads.

Create a meta description that attracts both readers and contains your keyword expression. Keep the meta descriptions short and sweet – you have around 160 characters to convince the seeker that this is the post you want.

Use keyword phrases in image alt tags to show how important the images are to the main content. Google also offers an image search that lets other people find your content.
If necessary, use schema markup to tell Google what kind of content you are producing. This can also help your content appear in other Rich Card entries as response fields.

7. User Experience (RankBrain)

Google has been using artificial intelligence for some time to better value websites. It calls the signal RankBrain. This includes other signals that affect your search engine ranking. These are:

CTR – The percentage of people clicking on your website after an entry appears in the search results

Bounce rate, especially pogosticking – the number of people jumping off again, which basically means that your site did not give them what they wanted
Dwell time – how long do they stay on your website after they arrive?

When people end up on your site, dislike them, and bounce off, Google believes it’s not relevant to their needs. If enough people do, your site may find it harder to rank higher in search results.

In contrast, Google is told that your content is relevant to the search when users click on your website and stay there for a while.

So if you optimize titles, descriptions and content to get the clicks and add value at the other end, you can improve your search engine ranking.

8. Links

As we said at the beginning, the Web is built on links, so links are of course a crucial SEO ranking signal. There are three types of links that you need to think about:

Embedded links
Outgoing links
Internal links

Google uses inbound links to determine how authoritative and relevant your content is.

The best scenario is when an authoritative site contains a relevant link to your site in a relevant part of its content. If the Content Marketing Institute includes a link to your content marketing resource, it will be better understood than if a random person with a low quality website links to that resource.

Ideally, you would like to have very few inbound links from low quality domains. You can find your incoming links using a tool like SEMRush or one of the keyword research tools described earlier in this guide.

At the same time, you want to show that you are creating quality content for your visitors and that linking it to relevant, authoritative websites in your niche is a good thing.

If you link to your own content, you can link pages for Google and your visitors, making each page more valuable. If you have an authoritative page and link to another page of your site, visitors will be able to find the other page and share some of that authority. This will help this second page to improve their search engine ranking.

9. Social signals

Sharing your content on social networks is another sign that they are valuable. The study of cognitive SEO over 23 million shares showed a clear correlation between social shares and search engine ranking.

The official word from Google is that social shares are not a direct ranking factor. Links from Twitter or Facebook are not counted as links from other authoritative websites.

However, there is no denying that the top-ranked pages in Google’s search results typically have many shares-probably because the more your content is shared, the more people will see and choose to link to it. This means that getting more social shares helps, albeit indirectly, your search engine placements.

Not only do you have to have a social media presence yourself, but you also need to simplify the sharing of your content and enhance those social signals. You can find some great tips in our Guest Blogging Guide and the Guide to Expanding Your Social Media Email List.

10. Real business information

This tip is important for companies that target specific local areas. The presence or absence of business information is one of the key local SEO ranking factors.

into a search engine. Organic search reasults, appears as paginated lists, are based on relevance to the search terms; and exclude advertisements.Whereas, non-organic search result do not filter out pay per click advertising.

There are 2 types of SEO:

  1. Black Hat SEO
  2. White Hat SEO

What is Black hat SEO?

When the owner apply any tricks to fool the search engines like Google, to place their website on the #1 rank is known as black hat SEO.

For example if I have a website and that is all about farming. Then just to place my site on rank #1, I use some of the keywords like #farmingtechnology #farmingsubsideis #dairyfarming in the tags and description this way I can easily rank my website on rank #1.

But some users write some other keywords like #illuminati #modernmobiles #sweetsshop which are not relevant to their topic and when someone search for these keywords for example #illuminati they will show my website which is all about farming. Just to attract traffic on my website.

This is how Black hat SEO works.

What is White hat SEO?

When the owner of the website does not apply any tricks to Google and their content is relevant to the article with the correct keywords written In the tags and description. And because of these their website showed up in only one organic search.

This is how White hat SEO works.

How to rank your website on rank #1 ?

  • First step is to Make your content in your way. You have to understand
the topic and then you have to provide it to people.
  • You can read articles from other websites and can make your own
content by understanding the concept of that topic.
  • Stick to your content. Do not write useless things in your article.
  • Use correct and relevant keywords in the description and tags of the article.
