Google Maps retrieves some of the features of Waze

Google’s famous mapping service now makes it possible to report risky situations on the road.

Google Maps is gaining new features that were until reserved for Waze. The American firm is constantly improving its satellite navigation application. It is now possible for users on iOS to report certain dangers such as an accident, a car breakdown, a traffic jam, works, a closed lane, a dangerous object or even radar. For this last point, given that French legislation prohibits the accurate reporting of radars, it should not be available.

As reported by our fellow Techcrunch, simply click on a “+” icon located just below the compass to report these different situations at risk. Similar features are already being deployed on Android.

Lately, Google has also introduced a speedometer. A feature that is not revolutionary, but is very practical. It must be activated in the application settings. It is also possible to share the status of his battery with his contacts. But the next big thing is adding an augmented reality mode to navigate and display contextual information.
